Hundred - towered Prague, Golden Prague, Magical Prague - these are just some of the names linked to a place that is often considered the Heart of Europe.
Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, is situated on the Vltava river. The capital has the largest number of tourist attractions ranging from medieval buildings, museums up to dozens of annual cultural and social events.
The Old Town Square (Staromestske namesti) - see photo on the left - dates back to the 12th century and is one of the best-known of Prague Squares, and boasts several of the capital`s major landmarks - Town Hall with astronomical clock (on the left), Gothic Cathedral of Our Lady before Tyn (in the middle), the unique Baroque Church of St.Nicholas, the Rococo Kinsky Palace and Gothic House At the stone Bell.
In 1992 the historical core of the Prague covering 866 hectares was listed in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Register.
